My skin has a mind of its own. I am almost twenty one years old and my body has decided to go through a second puberty of sorts and now my skin is paying the price. I decided to try Michael Todd a few months ago and it has certainly changed my skin for the better. So, being bored and having some extra money I decided to try something new: Kiehls! I first learned about Kiehls on YouTube, but little did I know they have been around for 160 years. Before I ordered the products I talked to some people and only heard positive feedback from them. Kiehls is pretty expensive though so I decided just to try the starter kit first for $54. Getting new skin care products in the mail is probably the best thing ever so as soon as I got home I had to try these products.

These are the three Kiehls’ favorites and full-sized products that came in the starter kit: the Ultra Facial Cleanser, Ultra Facial Cream, and the Creamy Eye Treatment (with Avocado). My best friend and I reviewed these products yesterday and I waited overnight to see how our skin felt in the morning. Overall, you can really tell that these products are high quality. Individually, these products cost about $50 a pop and I think you are getting your money’s worth with each product.

IMG_2303 copyThe Ultra Facial Cleanser seemed to be unscented but I didn’t mind it. My skin reacts negatively to perfumes and scented lotions so this was a plus for me. I loved that this facial cleanser melted away my excess eye makeup (this is always a bonus when it comes to face wash in my opinion).

IMG_2353 copyThis Creamy Eye Treatment (with Avocado) was bright green, which is fun, and smelled exquisite! We rubbed it into our orbital bone under each eye and watched as the green-ness absorbed into our skin. I know avocados make a great Do-It-Yourself face mask because they not only moisturize, but can also firm up your skin. I don’t think I would purchase this product on my own though, being that I don’t have a problem with under eye bags and it costs a steep $48 for an ounce.

I have SUPER dry skin and I tell you I woke up this morning and I didn’t feel like I had to put lotion on right away (a first for me). This cream is quite thick so a little goes a long way. I will definitely continue to use this before bed, but I don’t think I will use it in the morning under my makeup due to its thickness. However, it is a 24-hour cream so once a day should be enough for this product.

IMG_2320 copyKiehls also sent some tester products which I love because I will try these out and hopefully purchase what I loved. I have yet to try all of these but if I love them I will most definitely have a follow-up post about what other Kiehls products I purchased.

BeforeAfterFinal thoughts: I love Kiehls! I appreciate this brand because they have been around for so long and they never test on animals. This photo shows my skin a few weeks ago when I was very stressed from finals and a hectic schedule and shows how bright and clear my skin is now.  I really value taking care of my skin because it is so sensitive and the slightest changes will cause breakouts. This is also why I don’t mind spending a lot of money on trying these products.  I also firmly believe in preventing aging by moisturizing, moisturizing, moisturizing and apply sunscreen everyday. Once you get in the routine of practicing good skin care, you’ll never want to go to sleep with a face full of makeup again.

Thanks for reading! 🙂
