Taking some much needed time off

May 16, 2016

It has been quite a year for me. The first half of my senior year came with anxiety, sleepless nights and so much frustration over classes. Now that it is summer, I was able to take some time off and more importantly take some time to myself this weekend. For me taking a few days off to reflect on what you’ve conquered in the past couple of months is so important for your mental health. It was nice to have no plans at all and just breathe in the calmness of my cabin. Since the first time I ever visited, my cabin has been one of my most favorite places in the whole wide world. I love the calming feeling it brings me to wake up to the gorgeous lake and to go to sleep with a million visible stars in the sky. I’ve always loved the country ever since I can remember for this reason.

Not only was it nice to have no plans, but to spend time with Mitch and Benny was the cherry on top of it all. We all love this place equally and always have a blast every time we go. We even ended up going to a Casino and won over $150 each! With the money I bought some tools for my summer DIY projects… (stay tuned for those).

Even though I start summer classes tomorrow, I am so ecstatic about the next couple of months because I get to do all of the things I love outdoors and work on my mental health in my free time. I encourage you to take a day or a weekend to relax after finishing something stressful, whether it be a weekend getaway or a day on the couch. For me, this weekend was all about unplugging from the world and appreciating the two blessings by my side. If you haven’t figured out who my two blessings are there are some pictures of them down below 😉
